About Us

About Vitria Studio

Vitria Studio creates ceramic art tiles inspired by places, pictures and memories.

Our tiles began with a simple idea: to take much-loved Scottish landmarks and familiar scenes, and turn them into bright, collectable ceramic pieces that feel full of character. Castles, coastlines, ferries, lighthouses, beach huts, Highland cows, old red phone boxes, fountains, harbours and everyday places that mean something to someone — these are the moments and scenes that inspire what we make.

Each design is created in our distinctive glazed illustration style, with bold outlines, rich colour and a warm hand-painted feel. The result is somewhere between art, keepsake and souvenir: a small ceramic piece that captures the spirit of a place without trying to be a plain photograph.

Our principal collection focuses on Scottish landmarks from across the country, followed by Scottish-inspired scenes that feel familiar, nostalgic and full of charm. Alongside this, we also offer a personal photo tile service, allowing customers to have their own picture printed onto ceramic.

All Vitria Studio tiles are available in 4 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch sizes. Each tile is finished with a hardboard backing and metal hanger, so it arrives ready to display.

Our ethos

We believe small things can carry a lot of meaning.

A favourite place. A childhood holiday. A ferry crossing. A castle visited once and never forgotten. A stretch of beach. A family photo. A view that feels like home.

Vitria Studio is about turning those connections into something lasting. Not mass-produced plastic souvenirs, and not generic wall art, but ceramic pieces with weight, gloss, colour and presence.

We want our tiles to feel collectable, giftable and personal. Something you can hang on a wall, place on a shelf, give as a thoughtful present, or build into a growing collection of places and scenes that matter.

Made in Rothesay

Vitria Studio is part of Maxwell & Maxwell (Retail) Ltd and trades from our retail outlet in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute, known as Picture Bute.

Although the business is based on Bute, Vitria Studio is not limited to island scenes. Our work is inspired by Scotland as a whole — its landmarks, coastline, buildings, wildlife, humour, colour and sense of place.

Every tile is produced in-house, giving us control over the quality, finish and care that goes into each piece.
